Dravidian University is a State University established by Government of Andhra Pradesh in the year 1997 through
an Act of Legislative Assembly (No.17 of 1997) at Kuppam (Gudupalle Mandal), Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh.
Its main aim is to work for promotion of Dravidian Languages, Literature and Culture through Teaching, Research
and Extension activities. It also works for providing teaching and research in different subjects like Science
and Technology, Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Bio-technology, Commerce and Management, etc.,
through Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Programmes with an ultimate aim to achieve National
Integration. The University possesses highly qualified and well experienced teaching staff.
The University has been recognized by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi under Section 2(f) and 12 (B) for Central Financial Assistance.
The University has been re-accredited with “B” Grade by NAAC in January 2025.

The University is located in Kuppam which is a border place of Andhra Pradesh adjoining the borders of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The Campus is spread in a clean, green, pleasant and pollution free environment stretching about 1100 acres, and provides for joyful academic environment for pursuing higher studies. The University has implemented NEP 2020 and NHEQF in all its academic programmes. The University is in line with various activities for achieving Swarna Andhra@2047 and Viksit Bharat@2047.
